Winter is the day and night of worship and piety for the righteous servants of Allah
Allah Almighty has created four seasons for us: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. In the spring the universe opens, the new nipples bloom, the flowers come out and bear fruit, when the heat comes, the crops ripen, the fruit bears juice, the crops are ready to be harvested and the leaves of the trees give wind and shade. In autumn everything withers, the grass dries up, the leaves fall, the branches wither, the flowers disappear, the water recedes, and the fourth season is cold. The haze covers the earth and the ice freezes life.
Be it cold or heat! Every season is a season of worship, but it is relatively easy to earn more in less time in winter. The Holy Prophet (sws) has said: Winter is the spring of the believer in which the days are shorter than the believers fast in them and the nights are longer than they stay in them (ie read Nawafil etc.). (شعب الایمان)
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: “The winter season is spring for the believer. Does (السنن الکبراء للبیہقی)
It is narrated from Anas that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Fasting in winter is to earn a reward for free. (طبرانی )
Our religious leaders would rejoice at the arrival of winter and call it a season of increase in worship, as Hazrat Abdullah ibn Mas'ud used to say on the arrival of winter: Welcome to the cold Its nights are longer for the awakening and shorter for the fasting person (فردوس الاخبار،ج 2)
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Imam that the Holy Prophet said: You should stay up at night (especially perform Tahajjud). Because this was also the habit of the righteous servants before you, it is the means of attaining nearness to your Lord, this deed removes your evils and saves you from your sins. (جامع ترمذی،باب فی دعاء النبی ﷺ)
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Ali Murtaza that the Holy Prophet (saw) said: A villager stood up and said: O Messenger of Allah! Who is this for? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: It is prepared by Allah for those who speak softly, feed the poor, fast often, and get up at night to offer prayers (tahajjud) while people are asleep. (جامع الترمذی ،باب ماجاء فی صفۃ غرف الجنۃ )
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: Then he sprinkles water on her face (with love) and Allah has mercy on the woman who gets up at night and performs tahajjud and wakes her husband for tahajjud and if he refuses then She sprinkles water on her husband's face (with love). (سنن ابوداؤد،باب قیام اللیل)
The pious servants of Allah loved worship on winter nights. Hazrat Umar Farooq said: “winter season is a spoil for worshipers.” (Encyclopedia of Ibn Abi Al-Dunya, vol. 1) Hazrat Safwan bin Saleem used to pray inside the house in summer and on the roof in winter so that sleep would not come. (حلیۃ الاولیاء ، ج 3)
Hazrat Obaid bin Umayr used to say on the arrival of winter: O people of Qur'an! The nights have become longer for your recitation, so stay in them, and the days have become shorter for your fasting, so fast in them. (احادیث الشتاء للسیوطی، ص97)
Hazrat Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Mufallah says: It is masnun to finish the Qur'an in the first part of the night in winter and in the early part of the day in summer. (الآداب الشریعۃ لابن مفلح،ص688)
In winter, the days are shorter and the weather is cold, so the feeling of hunger and thirst is lessened, so it is easy to earn the reward of fasting in this season. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Fasting in winter is a cool booty. (ترمذی،ج 2،ص210)
Do not slacken in prayer because of the cold, but be patient with the hardships of the cold. There are two parts of the reward for perfect ablution. (مجمع الزوائد،ج1،ص542)
It is clear that winter is a time of worship. There are short days, long long nights. Fast during the day, neither hunger nor thirst. These days, the qadha fast of Ramadan can be easily observed. The nights are too long. Spend in worships such as recitation, dhikr, Durood-e-Pak, Nawafil, Qaza prayers, and reading of reliable religious books.
Prescription to avoid ingratitude…!
The Holy Prophet (saw) said: "When you see a person who has been given superiority over you in wealth and beauty, you should also see a person who is inferior to you in these things." (صحیح بخاری)
Help the distressed!
It is narrated on the authority of Hazrat Anas that the Holy Prophet (saw) said: Whoever helps a distressed person, Allah will write for him seventy-three degrees of forgiveness, one of which is sufficient to correct all his deeds. And a better degree of forgiveness will be the cause of higher degrees for him on the Day of Resurrection. (Sunan Bayhaqi)
